Ali Zain Ul Abidin has more than 5 years of diverse experience in human resources, talent management, and capacity development of youth in for-profit and non-profit sectors. Ali earned his Master’s in Management Sciences from Baluchistan University of IT, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), a leading public sector university, in Quetta, Pakistan. Ali has worked with BUITEMS, closely engaging with local, national, and international stakeholders for promoting employability. In this capacity, Ali has developed a talent pool of graduates from a diverse range of academic disciplines, assessed their profiles, and referred outstanding and qualified profiles to employers for jobs, training, and internships. Ali is also proficient in mentoring students for personal and professional career development. As Talent Coordinator Fellow at Partnership with Chldren, Ali assists the Chief Equity Officer and Talent and Equity Manager in managing talent acquisition goals, overseeing the PWC school intern program, and involves himself in overall performance management. He has also worked as HR Executive with a multinational logistics corporation (TCS Holdings), leading the Baluchistan Region, and Ali extended his expertise in talent acquisition and HR operations. Through these experiences, Ali has gained a firm grip on youth capacity building, peer education, HR operations, and management. He is avidly interested in broadening his perspectives on HR international practices, leadership, capacity development, talent acquisition, job training, and civic engagement.

Host Organization: Partnership with Children

Role at Host Organization: As the Talent Coordinator Fellow at Partnership with Children, Ali will assist the Chief Equity Officer and Talent and Equity Manager in managing talent acquisition goals, overseeing the PWC school intern program, and the overall performance management. The Fellow’s responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic recruitment plan; facilitatig the hiring process for all program and administrative roles; and ccordinating and managing intakes for all new opportunities. The Fellow will also prepare and support managers to facilitate performance management process, including an annual review and goal setting; and support managers in addressing performance issues in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.

Awais Farooq is a marketing professional with an avid belief in the power of love and empathy to connect with people. Awais has 4 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. After he earned his MBA, he worked at a Stanford-funded education and leadership startup called Amal Academy, helping fresh graduates be the best versions of themselves through soft skill development and self-discovery. Awais is passionate about and skilled in a wide range of areas, including outreach and marketing, tech management, professional development, curriculum design, program management, and counseling. He cares about working for a cause bigger than himself. Other than Amal Academy, Awais has taken part in Seth Godin’s Marketing Seminar and the altMBA programs to develop better empathy for his team and his approach to work. These experiences have helped him appreciate the exposure that humans can provide each other and have inspired him to become an Atlas Corps Fellow. He enjoys working in education, youth empowerment, and social awareness and has an overwhelming passion for social inclusion. Awais loves humans and hopes to connect with some amazing humans through his Atlas Corps fellowship.

Host Organization: American Red Cross

Role at Host Organization: At the American Red Cross, Awais will serve as the International Response Knowledge Management & Learning Fellow: supporting the Knowledge Management and Learning efforts for response operations and readiness activities to facilitate access to, utilization of, and learning from existing data, evidence, and knowledge generated from past operations both within the American Red Cross and with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Partners.

Hira Tauqeer is a Project Management Professional. She has worked as a Resident Administrative and Project Officer with the NDI office in Islamabad, Pakistan. In this role she has used her well-honed organizational and communication skills to make a positive contribution to Political Parties Development Program. She also utilizes her master training, leadership, team building and personnel management skills to benefit the program. She is adventurous, loves challenges, and believes in lifelong learning. She is flexible, creative, and loves to work in teams. . Currently, Hira is working with the Senior Project Manager of Training Fellowship Program. In this role she is a master trainer to train young members of political parties to assist them with leadership, political organizing, communication and public speaking skills. During her university life, she organized workshops and seminars, and she managed events. Hira organized an International Applied Business research conference for her university. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a Master’s degree in Project Management from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology. She has written a number of research papers including “Conflict among global virtual teams” and “Mentoring”. She is fluent in English and Urdu.

Host Organization:  Making Cents International

 Role at Host Organization: Hira will be supporting the full cycle development and implementation of Making Cents’ annual Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit. She will support the execution of a thoughtful and well-planned industry-leading Summit, which in 2016 will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. She will also YouthEconomicOpportunities.org learning hub and webinar series, which leverage relationships and content from the Summit and provides a learning platform that strengthens the youth economic opportunities field.

Mehak has three years of experience in the nonprofit sector, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Environmental Policy from the Lahore School of Economics. While working as an Assistant Manager for Communications and Knowledge Management at Nur Center for Research and Policy, Mehak spearheaded a DFID-UKAID funded project for developing the first National Knowledge Portal for Maternal and Neonatal Child Health (MNCH). This knowledge portal serves as a platform to share and collate maximum available MNCH knowledge in Pakistan, to facilitate public health experts and establish policymakers in developing evidence-based policies to strengthen the MNCH sector in Pakistan. Mehak also worked as Project Lead for an operational study with UNICEF on the Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) initiative, where she was intricately involved in organizing training sessions for skilled birth attendants and designing interventions based on the findings of the research. In the past she has worked for different social and development projects, supporting youth and women’s rights, which she feels passionately about. Previously, Mehak has worked on a one year USAID funded project on rehabilitating survivors of gender based violence (GBV) at a shelter-home. Her work involved developing holistic rehabilitation plans for the GBV survivors in order to reintegrate them back into society. Through these experiences, she has developed strong project management, report writing, event planning and communication skills, especially with regards to donor-funded projects. She is also a certified fitness instructor and works part-time at a fitness studio, leading High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts.

Host Organization: Atlas Corps

 Role at Host Organization: Mehak will be responsible for managing the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab (GLL), a training program for rising global nonprofit leaders participating in the Atlas Corps Fellowship. She will also plan and manage this leadership development program to empower Atlas Corps Fellows in their professional journeys. Mehak will ensure the overall excellent experience for staff, speakers, and Fellow participants.

Muneeb Malik is as an operations manager and creative data analyst with expertise in project coordination, project management, and data analysis with over five years of experience within the development, non-profit and IT sector. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Pakistan and completed his Masters in Structural Engineering and Business Management from Imperial College London, UK. As a Data Project Management Fellow with Center for Open Data Enterprise (CODE), Muneeb helps to manage and execute programs to apply data for the public good and support equity, specifically helping to manage the content and design of complex, large virtual convenings, as well as participating in convenings, helping to synthesize results, assisting in research and publication of narrative reports and digital resources, and otherwise supporting CODE’s Roundtables program. Muneeb has developed strong command at managing and coordinating projects for renewable energy, technology integration, sustainability, green construction practices and social development. He has also developed skills in data analysis and data visualization using smart tools and software for a variety of projects. Over the last two years, Muneeb has developed interactive dashboards and data reports for various public and private sector clients in the USA, such as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). He has also been engaged with a USA based organization through its home office as a Junior Estimator Engineer. Muneeb believes in sustainable practices and green ventures linking technology and academia for prosperous development.

Host Organization: Center for Open Data Enterprise (CODE)

Role at Host Organization: As the Data Project Management Fellow, Muneeb will work with the Roundtables Program Manager and the CODE team to help manage and execute programs to apply data for the public good and support equity. The Fellow will help manage both the content and design of complex, large virtual convenings, participate in convenings and help synthesize the results, assist in research and the publication of narrative reports and digital resources, and support CODE’s Roundtables program in other ways. The Fellow will also help CODE demonstrate the power of data in addressing climate change, environmental injustice, and racial inequity, among other issues, while learning a state-of-the-art methodology for research and convening on these issues.

Nafeesa has six years of experience in the nonprofit sector in education, poverty alleviation, and humanitarian relief in emergencies. During these years her exposure to many parts of the country and abroad through extensive field visits provided her with the chance to see the ground realities and interact with people at the grassroots level, at the same time enabling her to deal with government officials, civil society including people from pluralistic backgrounds. Nafeesa earned a postgraduate degree in Human Rights from Curtin University of Technology, Australia, where she was a scholarship holder under the Australian Development Scholarship. Nafeesa is also trained in Program and Project Management and Administration (PPMA) by Management Development Foundation (MDF) in The Netherlands. She earned a fellowship with the Nuffic Fellowship Programme for this course. Nafeesa has worked with CARE International in Pakistan in the Floods Emergency Response Programme (FERP) where she was engaged in supporting Implementing Partners (IPs) in understanding donor compliance, accountability and quality in humanitarian relief projects. Nafeesa has also worked for the Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) as Research and Advocacy Coordinator where she was responsible for supporting coalition work through conceptualizing, developing, executing and reviewing advocacy campaigns. These campaigns were aimed at policy-makers and emphasized over the need for a rights-based approach to education in national policies.

Host Organization: National Democratic Institute

Qaisar is brought up and schooled from Lasbela Balochistan, and he has been active doing social and volunteer work since the age of nine, He is the founder and CEO of several initiatives including Welfare Association for New Generation (WANG), a Balochistan based NGO which struggles for fairer society through it’s different intervention with young people. He is also the Chairman of Chanan Development Association (CDA-Pakistan) one of Pakistan’s leading youth focused organizations, At 25, Qaisar’s work has already been recognized by organizations in his native Pakistan and globally. Qaisar recently launched MeriReport.com® which is a platform enabling voices from grassroots levels to reach the mainstream through participatory approaches. MeriReport.com® is an idea to centralizes the news that matters to local people in rural areas and areas where mainstream media has no direct outreach, to further democratize media.Qaisar is leading Youth Peer education network (Y-PEER Pakistan) as the national focal point In charge, Y-PEER is a youth peer education network initiated by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Its membership includes thousands of young people working in the area of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health.Qaisar’s work runs the gamut – from grassroots development work to advocacy to policy, His development work includes community workshops and trainings in issues including: Leadership, Change, Conflict resolution, Civic Education, Countering Violence and Extremisms, citizenship, communication skills, , Social Media Activism, girls’ rights, sexual and reproductive health, human rights, social enterprise, micro-entrepreneurship, youth engagement, cross-cultural understanding and safe motherhood. His advocacy work has focused largely on these same issues, and working with agencies including USAID, UNFPA, Rutgers World Population Foundation, Do School Global and Soliya, In addition to his activism, Qaisar is a regular contributor to various local and national newspapers and he blogs at www.roonjha.com He has been recognized for his work by the British Council, as a Global Changemaker by British, as Global creative art winner by Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS, and more.

Host Organization: Girl Rising

 Role at Host Organization: Qaisar will be involving in managing various Girl Rising campaigns. Girl Rising is in the initial stages of launching a Pakistan campaign and Qaisar will be crucial in this effort. This will include formative assessment of education issues in Pakistan, particularly as they relate to girls, engaging and managing partners across sectors and in general assisting in the development of the Pakistan campaign. In addition, he will also be working on multiple global campaigns.

Sara Tariq has three years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is passionate about educational empowerment and youth development. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lahore School of Economics, and an Masters in Philosophy degree in Education from Beaconhouse National University. While working as an Acting Registrar at Nur International University, a project of Nur Foundation, she worked on developing a long-term strategy for a newly chartered university and led a cross functional team to successfully launch the university’s first undergraduate degree program within a short one month period. Her focus was to introduce programs that would strengthen academic-industrial nexus to harness full potential of the existing demographic youth bulge in Pakistan. While working with Nur Foundation, she also facilitated several other projects initiated by the Foundation including projects with Nur Center for Research and Policy (NCRP) and Nur Student Leadership Program (NSLP). With NCRP, she assisted in implementing the Ilm IDEAS funded School Health survey in Punjab, providing strategic direction for data collection processes geared toward assessing the existing status of public school children’s nutritional status. As a Program Coordinator at NSLP she was responsible for planning and implementing an internship program for young individuals to educate them about poverty issues, marginalization and social exclusion at community level. Sara also worked as Project lead with the Medical Education Department on developing a competency based curriculum for Fatima Memorial College of Medicine and Dentistry and Fatima Memorial Institute of Allied Health Sciences. Previously, Sara worked as an Academic Coordinator for the University of Louisville’s Masters in Public Health program being offered in Lahore in collaboration with Nur Foundation. Throughout her career, Sara has worked in several areas of development, such as education, health policy and advocacy, youth empowerment and community health. Through these experiences, she has developed strong competencies such as project management, project coordination and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, leadership development, policy development and marketing and communications.
