Charging Bull

Bowling green Park in the financial district of New York City is the home of one of the most ferocious and unpredictable beasts roaming our world today: Financial markets and its physical representations. One of those representations, the one that caught my attention the most, was not intended to host offices or any facility to maintain financial markets operational but rather to contain, aesthetically, the wild spirit of the beast.

Seven thousand pounds of beautifully sculpted muscular bronze unleashed into the world’s most iconic concrete jungle; this is the boastful jar in which artist Arturo Di Modica captured the heart of Wall Street. Among commuters and bystanders, metallically frozen and yet in threatening motion,  seizing the attention of thousands of visitors, stands proudly the Charging Bull of Bowling Green.
