Saniata Pira first joined Atlas Corps as the Communications and Engagement Intern in the Fall of 2021, and later became the Communications Assistant. As the Communications Assistant, she supports the social media strategy for our special recruitment campaigns and drafts the weekly blog highlight posts.
Saniata was born and raised in Hawaii, where she also received her B.A. in International Studies at Hawaii Pacific University. She is now working towards an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University, where she is expected to graduate in May 2022! She is interested in the intersections of gender and race along the scope of indigenous rights and reconciliation and justice. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and browsing through bookstores.
