U.S.-Indonesia Marine Conservation Fellowship

The U.S.-Indonesia Marine Conservation Fellowship is a special Fellowship to support marine conservation efforts in Indonesia and its Maritime Conservation Zones, as well as support the United States and Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to the preservation of culturally significant marine heritage.  We are recruiting Indonesia’s brightest young professionals, with a focus on those with experience in marine conservation, archeology, cultural heritage management, oceanography, or a similar field.

This Fellowship is a collaboration between the United States Government and Atlas Corps, and is partially supported by the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia. The initiative will support the efforts of the Governments of Indonesia and the United States to implement capacity-building programs that develop the leadership and technical skills of Indonesians in cultural heritage management within the marine conservation sector.

Fellows are placed in full-time fellowships for 12-18 months in the United States.  Host organizations may include scientific institutions, non-profits or museums that focus on marine archeology and underwater cultural heritage preservation.

Atlas Corps sponsors fellows on the J-1 Trainee visa and covers most visa expenses. Atlas Corps also provides each fellow with a living stipend to cover basic expenses (food, local transportation, and shared housing), a monthly phone plan, emergency health and travel insurance, and round-trip international airfare.
