The important individual attributes to look out for asides the fun and excitement are the core values of discipline, teamwork, the determination to succeed and focus exhibited by athletes competing at these sports events. The year 2011 recorded historical events that produced revolutions in the Arab world, economic crisis in Europe, natural disasters in Asia, and civil war and political unrest in Africa.
The ability of athletes from the following countries Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan, Libya, Tunisia and Sudan to qualify for participation in events at the forthcoming Olympics and regional football tournaments amidst the socio-economic breakdown, political chaos and civil disturbances experienced in these countries during 2011 is a source of great inspiration. We learn from their exemplary conduct that with the blend of courage, focus and determination, we can achieve our set goals for 2012.
