Svetlana Matt serves as a Legislative Assistant in the Office of Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09), where she handles technology and telecommunications policy and the Congressman’s work on the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. The Congressman has been a strong advocate for improving our nation’s cybersecurity, increasing privacy protections for consumers, and ensuring that lower-income individuals and veterans have access to broadband internet service. Svetlana also co-chairs the Congressional Tech Staff Association, a bipartisan and bicameral organization for staffers who work on technology policy on Capitol Hill.  She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a B.A. in Economics and International Political Economy from the University of Puget Sound.
