Hajira has been working as Project Manager at the British Council in Pakistan since 2016 where she supports delivery of the Higher Education and Skills portfolio. She has over ten years of experience in international development with a focus on building capacity of institutions and individuals. She appreciates a good challenge and feels passionately about designing complex strategies and projects with multiple moving parts, high stakes and a global impact.
Prior to joining the British Council Hajira worked at a Stanford University start-up, served on the Advisory Board of The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme under The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, was an Atlas Corps Fellow at Meridian International Centre, and managed operations at City & Guilds. She spent most of her undergraduate degree volunteering her time for UNV and teaching children from underprivileged backgrounds. Her work has been recognized by the US Department of State and the US Embassy in Pakistan which granted her the Atlas Corps Fellowship (2013) and the Study of the US Institutes on Women Leadership (2011) and the British Council which awarded her the National Active Citizen Award (2010).
