The last thing I would imagine to happen in United States is hate speech against certain group or community.  Hate speech is defined as speech that denigrates a person or people based on their membership in a group, usually an immutable group defined by race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability, for example, and sometimes also religion or political affiliation or views.  Donald Trump’s proposal of banning Muslim from entering the U.S. can be considered from my own point of view as a hate speech against Muslim community.

But  was Donald Trump the first one to propose such idea?. During the Iranian hostage crisis, Carter issued a number of orders to put pressure on Iran. Among these, Iranians were banned from entering the United States unless they oppose the Shiite Islamist regime or had a medical emergency

Meanwhile any Iranians entering the US were forced to undergo secondary screening. Interestingly enough, Carter did this by invoking the Nationality Act of 1952. A law originally opposed by Democrats for its attempt to restrict Communist immigration to the United States.

Not surprisingly, counter speeches by Obama Administration and even from his party Grand Old Party (GOP) didn’t take much time to counter his speech. The White House said what Donald Trump has proposed  can disqualify him from running for presidency.

Despite of the last result of 2016 Republican Presidential Nomination Polls which show that Donald Trump still leading, I don’t think he going to be the next president of United States. I expect that Hillary Clinton is going to be the first woman president of United States.
