Abubakar Kagermanov has six years of experience in the nonprofit sector and two years of work in university. Abubakar graduated from Grozny State Oil Technical University in Russia. During his second year of studies, he realized his goal of working to solve social problems in the local community. He couldn’t leave the university, as his parents were paying tuition fees and they had their own expectations. But it didn’t stop him from volunteering at local NGOs and creating his own social projects focused around conflict management, peacebuilding, communication, and human rights. After graduating from university, he started to work as an Assistant Director of the local NGO “Youth the Future.” In 2017 Abubakar received a scholarship for his Master of Arts on Theory and Technology of Social Work at Chechen State University.To this day, he is continuing his research on the topic: Socialization of Children with Disabilities in the Chechen Republic. He also created a project on socialization of children with disabilities and is still engaged in the project as a volunteer. For the last five years, the project helped more than 220 children and involved more than 150 volunteers. Since 2013, Abubakar participated in different long term programs and has won grants to support his local activities and projects. For the last two years, he has worked at the Chechen State University. Thanks to this job, he was able to attract young people’s attention to certain social problems, create new workshops, and facilitate sessions for the students to improve their soft skills and find creative solutions for complex social issues.

Alexey Korf graduated from Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES) with honors and earned the scholarship of the Governor of Primorskii Krai. Alexey also obtained his Master’s degree in Trade in Vladivostok City. Alexey founded Trust Logistic LLC in 2019 and has been working in the logistic sphere for international and domestic shipping containers since 2011. He has also served as a member of the State Examination Board and a lecturer in the field of study logistics and commercial activities at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and VSUES. Alexey hosted a competition at VSUES to support a student in opening their own business, joined the Business Russia union for entrepreneurs, and published two scientific articles in the Journal of Economy and Entrepreneurship in Moscow. Through his work as a specialist in logistics and the field of business organization, Alexey hopes to share his expertise and structure his knowledge to share with other business representatives and support business development.

Anna Egorova has six years of experience in the tech sector, and has earned a Master’s degree in Media from the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. Her other academic achievements include studying computer science and communications as an exchange student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. With more than six years of entrepreneurial and management experience in digital production and IT, Anna currently serves as an independent consultant and product manager, as well as a course producer and lecturer, for the “Digital Media Project Management” course at the leading Russian University, the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. As an individual entrepreneur and consultant, Anna works in the tech sector to help startups and production teams with business development, partnerships, and community building. Anna is passionate about developing collaborations between the tech sector and nonprofit organizations, as well as art initiatives.

Anna Reutova was born in Seversk, Russia. She graduated from Tomsk State University with a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Economics. While still a student, Anna was offered a position at the University’s Department of International Financial Reporting Standards. In this position, her main focus area is bringing Russian financial reporting into compliance with the international financial reporting standards of the government sector and thus making the university’s financial reporting transparent and accessible to its partners worldwide. Anna’s other significant focus area is working with international funds like Oxford Fund and European Commission funds, large international volunteering projects, international research projects, and grants. She oversees financial management of each project from budgeting and submitting an application to preparing a final financial report once a project is complete. Anna spends a lot of time consulting university employees about the intricacies of financial reporting, accounting, and tax accounting. In her spare time, Anna serves as a member of a nonprofit organization Association of Lawyers of Russia (Tomsk branch) where she is involved in several social projects aimed at providing free legal advice to underserved communities. Through her extensive work experience and continuous involvement with the nonprofit sector and socially important issues, Anna developed great expertise in financial management and strong project management skills. Anna is most interested in education and healthcare, where she is sure her skills will be most useful and for which there is a lot of room for growth in Russia.

Marina Vorontsova holds a Bachelor’s equivalent specialist degree in Accounting, Analysis, and Audit from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR). Marina also holds PFUR’s diploma with honors in the English language, which certifies her as an interpreter. She is currently enrolled at UC Berkeley’s Extension School pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Writing. Marina has over seven years of professional experience and currently works as a technical copywriter with Digital Data LLC, Paragon Software Group of Companies. In this role, she pursues her passions for writing, languages, and technology. She has attended web development conferences and interviewed top speakers in technology. With the help and guidance from the Virtual Leadership Institute and her peers, she hopes to continue highlighting the pressing issues of gender inequality in technology and sharing stories of prominent women in tech who are overcoming barriers on a daily basis. By showcasing the women’s stories, her goal is to draw more attention to the compelling gender problems surrounding the industry and inspire young female leaders to follow in the footsteps of the older generation and continue fighting for their inherent rights.

Serafima Kosinskaia has seven years of work experience both in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Serafima earned a Specialist Degree in Law from Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service in Vladivostok, Russia. Serafima is currently a field worker with Doctors Without Borders. She has done two assignments as Project Administration Manager in Afghanistan and Libya, as well as 1 mission as Finance & Human Resources Coordinator in Lebanon. Previously, Serafima worked as a Regional Executive Director in the Russian Red Cross (Primorsky Territory Branch). She successfully led projects related to disaster relief and health promotion among youth. In November 2017, her initiative for the Russian Red Cross got through the highly competitive selection process and received financial support from the “Presidential Grants for Civil Society Foundation.” Due to receiving the Presidential grant, she was able to provide First Aid and Disaster preparedness training for the indigenous people from the remote areas of the Primorsky Territory, Russia. Furthermore, Serafima has had a chance to serve for different NGOs overseas, including in Peru, Tanzania, Cambodia, and more. Additionally, she has 3 years of work experience as a Lawyer in Vladivostok, Russia. Through all these experiences, she has developed strong leadership and project coordination skills. Serafima is deeply interested in humanitarian assistance and volunteer management.

Yana Borodyuk has had 5 years of experience in the cinema sector. Yana earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Journalism from Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia. While working as the Head of Media Relations at a leading Russian subscription video on demand service, Yana launched several important social projects for the company. In cooperation with the All-Russian Society of the Deaf (VOG), she initiated the creation of a special section on the platform with adapted content for people with hearing impairment; launched a cinema-blockchain international project for supporting young filmmakers; made an educational cinema-project for children about Global ecological issues in collaboration with Zaryadye Park (which currently is the main park in Moscow); and organized the company’s charity film screening in The State Hermitage Museum to raise funds for B.E.L.A. Butterfly Children Charity Foundation. Yana also was a member of the AIESEC community and went to a volunteer project in the Philippines where she researched electricity consumption in rural areas of Davao region (island of Mindanao, Philippines). Through all these experiences, she evolved strong project coordination and implementation skills along with communication and creativity skills. The most appealing areas to her in the nonprofit sector are inclusive leisure activities for people with physical and mental disabilities, youth empowerment, and global ecological issues.
