Surya Hardiansyah currently lives in Sarmi Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computational Statistics from the Institute of Statistics (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Statistik Jakarta). As soon as he graduated, he works as a civil servant and was stationed in a remote area to work at Statistics of Sarmi Regency which also covered the Mamberamo Raya Regency area. Being involved directly in the Center of Traditional Society as a Survey and Census-Taker, he was inspired to do more for the good of the Papuans. With its rough and uncertain topography, Papua Island seems to be better developed alongside the help from an integrated Geographical Information System (GIS), which is why Surya is fascinated with GIS and spatial data science and wants to develop them in many ways to help the development of Papua Island’s residents and resources.
