Mirado Rakotoharimalala is the current CEO of the Orange Pro League which is the only sports major league in Madagascar. He earned a Master’s degree in Sport Management and the Business of Football from Birkbeck, University of London. Before this current position, Mirado worked as the Communication and Marketing Manager of the Soccer Federation in Madagascar. From 2014, he acted as a Media Officer of the Confederation of African Football and the Council of Southern African Football Association. He had the opportunity to officiate for several international games in Africa. He has been part of the Steering Committee of the Young African Activists Network since 2019 and acts as the Vice-Chair of the Feminism workgroup. Mirado also attended the Youth Leadership Training Program provided by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Madagascar in and participated in the second cohort of the Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Center in South Africa. Under the initiative of UNFPA Madagascar, Mirado founded and led the national network Tanora Iray which mainly focuses on adolescent reproductive health. He was also selected as the first Country Coordinator of the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning in Madagascar. In 2015, he was part of the Malagasy delegation that attended the 48th Commission on Population and Development at the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York as the youth representative of Madagascar. Through these experiences, Mirado has developed strong management, communication, and leadership skills. He is fighting for a better diversity and inclusion, enhancing the contribution of young people and women in any decision process.
