Madison Marks is a social innovation and entrepreneurship expert with a decade of experience in Washington, DC and the Middle East. Madison received her Master’s degree in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and Bachelor’s degree in Middle East Studies from Florida State University. She is an active board member of the Middle East North Africa Regional Fellowship, a professional placement program aiming to strengthen ties between the United States and the Arab world. She is currently serving as Director of the Social Innovation Lab at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In her role, she supports social innovators to accelerate growth and scale their impact in Baltimore and beyond. Prior, Madison was Dubai-based for three years, working at the nexus of innovation, social entrepreneurship, and investment. While in the UAE, Madison developed the Expo Live programming strategy for the Expo 2020 Dubai event. Additionally, she supported the launch and execution of accelerator programs, including Startupbootcamp’s Dubai Smart City Accelerator and the region’s first female-focused tech accelerator program, Womentum. Madison also spent four years in Washington, DC motivating youth education and enabling exchange programs with Qatar Foundation International. She has also consulted on innovation and intercultural initiatives in Jordan and Lebanon. Madison’s interests in social change relate to education, health, AI, agritech, and fintech.
