Zimran Khan is a development professional with over nine years of experience in a diverse range of roles in telecommunications, biometrics, ICT, finance, and development. Currently, he serves as the Head of Exploration for UNDP Bangladesh. Before joining UNDP, Zimran served as an Analyst at the Asian Development Bank’s Bangladesh Resident Mission, where he administered their finance sector portfolio, comprising financial inclusion, capital market development, and public-private partnership projects. At ADB, he explored “Blockchain Technology for Development” and “Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Capital” initiatives and coordinated the Mission’s $500 million COVID-19 Active Response and Expenditure Support Program. Earlier, Zimran held multiple business development roles in the private sector and a partnership development role for a U.S. federal government contractor. Zimran loves to work with people to create innovative solutions and solve challenging problems. He is an Innovator Fellow at the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), Ambassador at the UNLEASH Innovation Lab, and SDG Leader at the Institute of Innovation Research. Zimran holds a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the American International University Bangladesh, an MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka, and studied International Development at the University of Edinburgh.
