Trained as an economist from the University of Indonesia, with over 10 years of experience in corporate & market strategy, Fajrin Hanggoro decided on a career shift toward the public sector after completing his Master’s degree with a scholarship from Chevening. His first professional experience as a Market Analyst in Krakatau Steel gave him the chance to understand the backward and forward linkage of the industry, including the critical role of energy availability for industrial development. Driven by curiosity on energy availability, Fajrin decided to work at Siemens where his role focuses on analyzing the energy market & the country’s energy policy. During the work at Siemens, He took a sabbatical for postgraduate study at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom to connect the dots of his industry and energy experience from the perspective of sustainable energy policy. As a student who was passionate about energy topics, Fajrin participated as a delegate for International Student Energy Summit 2017 in Mexico where he presented his idea about the sustainable energy transition. Those experiences gave him both the wide-perspective and deep understanding of the problem in each sector that will be critical as a consultant in public issues. Now as a Senior Consultant at Palladium he wants to bring the market expertise to support the small-holder farmers through a market system development approach. His role also includes monitoring the environmental aspect of the intervention program to ensure the program aligns with the sustainable development agenda, where Fajrin is passionate about.
