Apparently, I’m passing the halfway milestone of the Fellowhsip, as I was reminded when Nicole visited our office for a mid-year check-in the other day. I can’t believe I only have 6 months left!
The past 6 months have been busy at times, but fulfilling. I’ve been fortunate to be placed in an organization where everyone is motivated, smart, and compassionate. One of my roles at GlobalGiving is trying to help corporations execute their CSR strategy through fundraising campaigns. Working with forprofits have been interesting, sometimes a bit challenging, but they have been great learning experiences.
In the next 6 months, I plan on fulfilling the role at my Host Organization + doing new things. One of the “new things” will include myself trying to learn programming. As GlobalGiving is a website platform, there are so many times that I groan to myself “why didn’t I learn programming earlier so I can just fix this myself!”, instead of nagging our tech team to do it for us. One of my professional goals this year is to complete all courses at www.codeacademy.org. I am very far from reaching my goal, but hopefully I will be more tech-savvy by the end of the year.
We’ll see how it goes!
