How do we review 12,000 applications every year and select top social change leaders to become Fellows? We have a strong team of Selection Board Members! Meet Faten Belguith, our outstanding Selection Board Member who helps to interview Atlas Corps applicants.

Why did you decide to volunteer for Atlas Corps as a Selection Board Member?

For many years I’ve been a strong proponent of Atlas Corps’ mission. It fits my life’s mission perfectly and I feel honored to be able to contribute to the amazing work the whole team performs. It is my conviction, working and living in many countries, that the world doesn’t lack great leaders. It lacks great opportunities for young leaders to learn and grow, to be able to address social issues in their communities, confidently and efficiently. Atlas Corps provides these and deserves support from every quarter.

How has volunteering with Atlas Corps impacted you?

Getting the opportunity to interact weekly with potential world leaders: listen to their experiences, understand their backgrounds, share their goals and dreams, and assist them in their journey, is extremely rewarding and inspiring.  It reminds me every day why I do what I do.

What message would you like to send to individuals who are thinking of volunteering with Atlas Corps?

People are the real drivers of positive change around the world. If we want to be part of real change, we should support individuals and organizations that provide opportunities for people to learn new tools, focus on what matters in their communities.  This empowerment encourages them to act continuously and inspire others.

Thank you, Faten, and our hundreds of volunteers who help achieve the ATlas Corps mission every day.
