The United States spent eight years fighting in Iraq, but the Wednesday’s Iraqi parliamentary elections is not getting much attention in US. Despite the heavy costs of the war, what is happening in Iraq now is almost never mentioned on American network news or in newspaper headlines. I really do admire the Iraqi people. Despite what has been going on between Shia and Sunna they are determined to strengthen the Iraqi sense of nationality over the religious sectarian one. I do pray that the result of this elections would set the country on the right track.
