I’ve seen it in the movies: the perfectly roasted turkey, the day off (turns into a long weekend), American football, the parade.
But I could never fully grasp the appeal of the holiday. That is until I spend Thanksgiving in the US. It may have taken 18 hours to prepare the meal, but it took us as much (and more) to enjoy it. And, still high on the food coma we had during the long weekend, I realized what Thanksgiving means to me, namely if you are really thankful, what do you do? You share.
