Ana Paula has over nine years of experience working for the nonprofit sector, private sector and international organizations. She has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil. While working as a coordinator for a youth project in the Jardim Angela/Capao Redondo neighborhood, (the neighborhood was considered by United Nations the most dangerous place on the planet in 1996), she developed several partnerships with other nonprofit organizations, universities, international organizations and government entities to offer poor adolescents opportunities to change their lives through access to formal education. Previously, Ana worked for UNICEF to advance child and adolescent rights in Brazil’s public agenda, especially for those who live in poor and rural areas of the country. During her work as an assistant of the UN Resident Coordinator’s office, she focused on topics of race, gender, access to education, violence and youth empowerment. She volunteered as a popular educator for over ten years, promoting human rights, gender, race and peace in Brazil.

Host Organization: International Planned Parenthood Federation

Role at Host Organization: Ana will assist staff by managing the portfolio of sexual and reproductive health programs related to youth, gender-based violence, and HIV/STIs. She will implement programmatic strategies in sex education, access to quality health services, prevention of gender-based violence and sexual rights, amongst other programs

Chilochibi Chiziba is a Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RM&E) enthusiast, Bachelor of Arts Economics with Demography (minor) holder from the University of Zambia. He has worked in RM&E related positions for about 4 years in different organizations including Jhpiego, Concern Worldwide, and the United Nations Economic commission for Africa. While working for these organization, He worked on projects focused on, socioeconomic development, gender based violence, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, maternal and Child Health. Immediately after graduating in 2015, he earned an internship with the United Nations Economic commission for Africa where his work involved supporting the Sub-regional Office for Southern Africa in carrying out policy research, analytical studies and advocacy to promote economic and social development. After completing the six months internship, he joined Concern Worldwide where he supported routine monitoring, impact evaluation and overall learning component of projects to facilitate implementation, performance assessment, identifying appropriate actions for strengthening performance of humanitarian responses and development approaches. From 2016, Chilochibi has been supporting the Zambia Ministry of health in areas including HIV/AIDS, malaria, cervical cancer, reproductive, maternal and child health through data systems and research while working at Akros and Jhpiego. In his capacity, he provided technical capacity building in DHIS2/HMIS data use and analysis at all Ministry of Health levels, including provincial, district, and facility levels and led the design, development and implementation of provincial monitoring, evaluation and research systems. This included the development of RM&E plans; implementation of data management and data use systems.

Host Organization: Solstice

Role at Solstice: Chiliochibi will join a team at Solstice working with two Department of Energy awards to implement a new alternative credit metric, increase energy equity, and grow the solar pie – and stand up some of the first low-income community solar projects in the country.

Ejaz has seven years’ experience of monitoring, evaluation, and research for diverse community development projects. He earned a Master’s degree in Management from IMSciences, Peshawar, Pakistan. He is currently working with the United Nations Development Program in a post-crisis situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on enhancing the capacities of justice and security sector institutions with particular focus on gender responsive and community policing on the supply side and access to justice for vulnerable groups including women and children on the demand side of the justice and security chain. In his current capacity, Ejaz develops and implements M&E systems, devises protocols for research and manages teams associated with program and research assignments. He has been instrumental in annual project planning and aligning of interventions with broader sectorial and national goals. He is an expert user of data analysis software’s and analyzes large pool of data for reporting and program and policy decisions. Previously, he worked with a rural development program focusing on pro-poor value chain development and management, climate change adaptation and rural livelihood for indigenous mountain communities in Northern Pakistan. He secured livelihoods for poor small farmers particularly women and produced an experimental evidence base combining capacity building interventions and action research. Ejaz also worked with model legal empowerment of the poor program contributing to methodology design and managing field teams on an innovative impact evaluation combining RCT’s with case tracking and ethnography. Ejaz takes pride in his work and contemplates ways to help his community in securing a better quality of life.

Host Organization: Worldreader

Role at Worldreader: At Worldreader, Ejaz will serve as an Impact & Evaluation (I&E) Fellow, assisting the I&E Department in building and streamlining measurement and evaluation processes. He will develop M&E strategies, conduct data analysis, ensure proper maintenance of data storage systems, and complete special projects.

George is a development aficionado with eight years’ experience in the nonprofit sector and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He possesses exceptional knowledge in project formulation, data management, and research assignments in various donor-funded health and education projects including those of the World Bank, USAID, and Global Fund. While working as a Programme Officer (Health and Education) with the International Institute for Local Development under the Literacy in Education project, he worked in collaboration with USAID’s Northern Education Initiative Plus (NEI+) to improve the literacy skills in public primary school pupils in focus states in Nigeria. Previously, George worked as an ENR (Enhancing Nigeria’s Response to HIV/AIDS) consultant with the Society for Family Health, where he helped improve institutional and resource capacity of both government and community actors and scaled up access to services and commodities related to health matters especially Malaria, Cervical Cancer, and HIV & AIDS. George believes in community volunteerism, which led him to join the Nigerian Red Cross Society as a Service Group Member. Through these experiences, he developed strong Monitoring and Evaluation skills in both education and health interventions. In addition to his multilingual skills in English, Igbo, and basic French, he is also very passionate about socioeconomic development strengthening and also fostering positive and sustainable change in his country and the world as a whole.

Host Organization: Sheltering Arms

Role at Sheltering Arms At Sheltering Arms, George will collect, compile and analyze programmatic data with a lens toward outcome study, development and implementation. He will work closely with the programs, quality improvement, and development teams and with senior leadership to identify and develop outcome measures to be utilized in designated programs.

Hae Soo Park has three years of experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors and has earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Kyung Hee University in Republic of Korea. Currently, Hae Soo is interning for Good Neighbors International, a Korean nonprofit humanitarian organization focused on child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. She is researching case studies of global campaigns and international governance, as well as updating current international issues and trends. Prior to her internship, Hae Soo was a Research Assistant at a private financial company in Korea, Woori Investment and Securities, for almost two years. She joined the firm in 2011 and assisted the equity research analyst in researching market trends, industry trends, and company updates. In 2009, she completed an internship for nine months at The Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO). Her work mostly dealt with assisting the executive coordinator with updating membership database and information. She was also responsible for covering meetings on behalf of CoNGO at the United Nations. Finally, she assisted the staff of New York in organizing the logistics for CoNGO-sponsored meetings and receptions, including CoNGO Board Meetings as well as the Civil Society Development Forum. Through her experiences, Hae Soo has not only learned research skills, but she has also learned how to work proficiently in a fast paced environment. Hae Soo enjoys and feels passionately towards topics related to children’s empowerment, education, and rights advocacy.

Host Organization : InterAction

Role at Host Organization: Hae Soo will provide support to InterAction’s Standards related work, as well as support the planning and execution of the 2014 InterAction Annual Forum.

Hisham has seven years of experience in the nonprofit sector and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan. Most recently, Hisham worked for International Rescue Committee (IRC) as an Employment Deputy Manager, Managing a team of officers to conduct assessments to vulnerable Syrians and Jordanians and identify their economic needs and provide decent job opportunities to them by matching them with the available open vacancies, the project aims to improve the economic status of the beneficiaries and provide a more sustainable solution and to enable the beneficiaries to work and support themselves financially, Previously Hisham has worked for Community Engagement Project a Global Communities project funded by USAID as a program Manager, managing a big team to identify the needs of local communities afflicted by the Syrian crisis and help them submit proposals that will enable them to receive in kind grants from USAID, Hisham also oversaw the implementation of the project’s activities and intervention and was responsible for engaging governmental and civic organisations as well. At the same time, he engages in volunteer work with local community-based organizations (CBOs) to promote and maintain social peace and a culture of acceptance of others among local communities. . Through these years of experience, he gained strong skills in communication, effective coordination, and leadership. Hisham enjoys focusing on topics of humanitarian relief and development of refugee communities and demonstrated great efforts to improve the welfare and safety of the refugees and to empower refugee women and youth in his country to effectively contribute to restoring peace and development.

Host Organization: Abt Associates

Role at Abt Associates: At Abt Associates, Hisham will will support the SHOPS (Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector) Plus project by working with the private sector on family planning, child health, and HIV interventions. He will also support the implementation of technical activities and assist with writing technical project reports.

Julie has six years of work experience in the nonprofit sector. She earned a Master’s of Science degree in Project Management from the University of Bolton, and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Economics and Public Administration from the University of Zambia. Julie has worked as Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Officer for Pact Zambia in Ndola since November 2016. She supported the Zambia Community HIV Prevention project (Z-CHPP) focusing on community HIV prevention. Julie’s main role was ensuring a functional monitoring and evaluation system to catalyze innovative sustainable, accessible and quality health solutions. She supported Implementing Partners to ensure that data was collected from health service delivery points, analyzed and reported, conduct data quality audits, identify success stories for organizational learning, and participated in all research work. From March
2016 to October 2016, Julie worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Lusaka, Zambia for Society for Family Health (Population Services International). Her project portfolio included; Sexual Reproductive Health Initiative for all, Department of Defense, Expanding Effective Contraceptive Options and HIV self-testing. From February, 2012 to March, 2016 Julie worked for World Vision Zambia as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Eastern province. She contributed to World Vision Zambia’s mission to work for the poor and oppressed through the implementation of area development programs aimed at enhancing transformational development by reducing poverty and empowering communities. At World Vision, Julie’s project portfolio included Health, HIV/AIDS, Sponsorship, Water and Sanitation, Education, Food Security and Livelihood. Julie has assisted programs with planning, managing information
systems, reviewing performance against targets, identifying and addressing implementation challenges, documenting lessons learned and most significant success stories, report periodically and, oversee research activities, program assessments and designs. Julie has acquired skills in activity scheduling and tracking, design and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation plans and, conducting both qualitative and quantitative research.
Julie is interested in development programming, research and policy formulation and implementation to improve development outcomes. She enjoys traveling, site seeing, meeting different people from all walks of life and dancing.

Host Organization: Save the Children

Role at Host Organization: Julie will work with the HIV & TB technical team to support the technical aspects of program implementation. She will assist with program oversight, operations, logistics, and monitoring and evaluation functions and will also support the technical and M&E teams in reviewing program documents/reports and ensuring their timely submission to the relevant quarters. She will also contribute to the development of new proposals, program innovations, knowledge products and various other technical tools and processes.

Margaret is a 33 years old Zambian female citizen born in Kitwe, Zambia. She has 11 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. 3 years of volunteerism and 8 years different positions of full time contracts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies from Zambian Open University, Post-graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Cavendish University-Zambia and Diploma in Social Work both from University of Zambia. Margaret works as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning officer for the USAID funded Zambia Community HIV Prevention Project (Z-CHPP)/DREAMS Initiative based in Choma, Southern Province of Zambia. She supports the organization in ensuring a functional monitoring and evaluation systems. Her main responsibilities are; to ensure data is collected from service delivery points, analyzed and reported according to organizational and donor requirements, data quality audits, identifying success stories for organizational learning. From August 2014 to November 2016 she worked for Women and Law in Southern Africa – Zambia as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Lusaka province. She contributed to Women and Law in Southern Zambia’s mission to contribute to socio-economic, political and legal advancement for women. Achieved through a collaborative, strategic action oriented research in the social and legal field; lobbying for legal reform and policy, changes on laws and practices which discriminate and disadvantage women and children. Her responsibilities were to assist programs with planning, manage programs information systems, conduct reviews of performance against targets, identifying and addressing implementation challenges, documenting lessons learned and most-significant success stories lastly oversee the entire organisational Monitoring and Evaluation system and participate in baseline studies. Margaret has acquired skills in activity scheduling and tracking, design and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation plans and Reproductive and Sexual health. Margaret is passionate about women and children’s rights, Gender, HIV/AIDS and Disability issues.

Host Organization: RestoreNYC

Role at Host Organization: Working as an Impact Manager, Margaret will lead Restore’s team in its outcomes model and tracking across client services, housing, and economic empowerment programs. She will refine Restore’s impact infrastructure including manuals and processes, ensure effective implementation of impact activities, and analyze data and communicate results of findings to diverse stakeholders.
