Jane has more than five years’ experience in the nonprofit sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Public Relations from the Moi University, Kenya. Currently, Jane is the Programs and Communications Officer at KELEGA Youth Empowerment and Education (Gay Kenya Trust), a position she has held for the last two years. Her main responsibilities are to fundraise and build partnerships with allies committed to the cause for equality for sexual minority persons in Kenya. She has however been involved in lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) organizing efforts since 2006. Previously, Jane worked at the America Association of Blood Banks, Kenya, and at the Kenya Chapter of the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion. Through these experiences, she has developed strong project management and coordination skills, with particular interest in human rights. Jane enjoys photography, a skill she has incorporated her advocacy work.

Host Organization: Human Rights Campaign

Role at Host Organization: Jane will be a part of HRC’s global engagement program, which works to advance equality for LGBT people around the world. She will focus on strategies and best practices for HRC to educate Americans on global LGBT issues.
