Iya has three years of experience in the nonprofit sector and studied Advertising and Public Relations at Moscow Institute of Television and Radio “Ostankino” in Russia. While working as an ESL Teacher and a Teaching Assistant at Anglo-American School of Moscow, she gained experience in working with children and teenagers. She has volunteered as a Peer Mentor at SOS Children’s Villages Tomilino helping empower the teenagers to study and work with mentors on their goals for further professional development. Previously, Iya worked as a Social Media Manager at an advertising agency, she developed strong social media management, copywriting, and influencer engagement skills. She also worked as an Alumni Coordinator for the Future Leaders of Exchange program at American Councils, Iya obtained event management skills and worked closely with several community-based nonprofit organizations. Iya enjoys focusing on the topics of education and has a strong passion for youth empowerment. As an alumna of an international exchange program FLEX, she wants to help younger people find similar opportunities to share their culture and grow professionally, creating a safer place for everybody.

Role at UniversalGiving

Iya will play an important role at UniversalGiving across 2-3 Business Units. Under NGO Services, Iya will be in charge of researching and outreaching to new NGOs in order to expand UniversalGiving’s giving and volunteering database. For Marketing, Iya will expand UniversalGiving’s partnerships with universities.
