Hiba is a community leader and member of the Global Shapers Community—part of the World Economic Forum. Hiba is devoted to promoting the growth and viability of Tunisia’s private sector, and giving it a voice in the country’s evolving political landscape. She most recently served as the Programs and Events Manager at the Arab Institute of Business Leaders (IACE)—an independent business association and Think Tank that represents the private sector in Tunisia. In this capacity, Hiba contributed to the management of IACE initiatives in the four core program areas of Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Economic policy reforms and Civic engagement across Tunisia. She also contributed to the organization of The Enterprise Days which gathers international policy makers, stakeholders, business leaders and experts from North Africa and the world. Hiba worked on a research project to reform the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt and Tunisia after the Arab Spring. In addition, Hiba lead the organization of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and Creative Business Cup in Tunisia on behalf of the Kauffman Foundation. During her previous experience with the British Council, she worked in a close cooperation with different processes relating to MENA programs.
Host Organization: The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy
Role at Host Organization: Hiba will work in a research capacity with the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP). Hiba’s research will be developed in conjunction with TIMEP’s directorial staff and should reflect the Hiba’s personal expertise and prior background.
