I have just discovered a profound interest in education technology – that is, technology innovations that identify and enhance students’ learning capacity as well as enhance teacher effectiveness. In my work, I have come across many ed tech which are revolutionizing the teaching and learning process around the world, but especially in developing countries. One of the premier programs, aside from Khan Academy of course, is Sugata Mitra’s unique conceptualization of handing technology to students, especially rural children, and letting them figure out how to work the technology. In his varied experiments, he has found that students who have never encountered technology still possess the skills and knowledge to figure out the operations. Just another fact to show how the human mind is so powerful indeed!
