ChildFund International is a non-governmental organization (NGO) working in 27 countries to help deprived, excluded, and vulnerable children have the capacity to improve their lives and become young adults, parents, and leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities. Since 1938, ChildFund has worked for the rights and well-being of children. ChildFund engages in different sectors of emergency response including livelihood and food security needs, alternative basic education, Early Childhood development and Protection, Health and Nutrition and Advocacy. As a Child focused organization, Child protection is at the core of all responses. Much of the CPiE work involves providing psychosocial support for children and their families who are often distressed in the aftermath of a disaster.  Because of its long-term work with community partners ChildFund is in a position to mobilize quickly in response to emergencies, and build on the local resources and strong relationships.
