Erin comes to Atlas Corps with a passion for public service that started in the service-learning sphere as an active student leader on her undergraduate campus nearly 12 years ago. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer that served in Uganda for over 2 years as a Community Health Educator. Erin is the founder and Board Director of a community based organization located in rural Uganda that uses the local arts and creative education to sensitize community members about the prevention of HIV/AIDS. She has worked at Rebuilding Together, a national organization that preserves affordable homeownership for low-income homeowners, on their the Gulf Coast Operations Program and has directed their national AmeriCorps program. Through these roles, Erin has managed federal grants, provided training and technical assistance to grassroot non-profits, cultivated partnerships and supported a national program that consists of 65 AmeriCorps members a year, located in 33 Host Sites across 20 states. Erin’s expertise and interests are in non-profit partnership development, volunteer recruitment, service member support systems, program evaluation, service-learning and instructional design. Erin received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Sociology from Elon University and a Master’s of International Public Health from Boston University’s School of Public Health. She is also currently pursuing her certification to become a personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise.
