Atlas Corps Leadership Committees are the most tangible opportunity for Fellows, Scholars, and Alumni to contribute to Atlas Corps, guide the organization, and have a voice in shaping our programming over time. These committees are a way to create a transparent and efficient infrastructure to promote community leadership and involvement. These committees are co-run by both staff and Leaders from the Atlas Corps Community. For more information on the Leadership Committees, please refer to our overview document (https://bit.ly/AtlasCorpsLeadershipCommittees).

Structure

There are three committees: Professional Development; Engagement; and Social and Cultural. Additionally, current Fellows can also apply for the Fellowship Advisor position. Except for the Fellowship Advisor Position (active Fellows only), membership for the other committees is open to any Leaders from the Atlas Corps Community, including Fellows, Scholars, and Alumni. Each committee will have a Chair and Co-Chair who provide leadership to the committee. Members apply by filling out an application form during a general call for applications (typically once a year) to join a committee.

These committees will be co-run by both staff and representatives from the Atlas Corps Community. Both parties are responsible for ensuring that goals and objectives are being met as outlined in the terms of reference.

Annual Committee Plans & Meeting Notes

Within the first two months of a committee’s launch date, initial annual goals will be discussed and written. These goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (S.M.A.R.T) with a deadline and member/office responsible for achieving it. Once submitted, the annual plan and progress towards these goals will be shared with the Atlas Corps Community every quarter.
