There are only two seasons in Lima: hot but not so hot and cold but not so cold. At this moment the foggy white skies are opening and starting to let the sun through, my hometown will see 4 months of sunshine and back to the cold fog and drizzle.
I’ve enjoyed the change of seasons here in College Park more than I thought I would. Leaves change color, squirrels get busy stocking up on food for the winter, bugs crawl into the heat of your house and the cold starts to warn you that more will come. It’s colder than I’ve ever experienced on a “you live here” basis and it makes me think about a few months ago when people complained about the heat.
Now I have to remember to check the weather permanently or risk being fooled by the sunshine outside. I think I will enjoy the winter.
